We are honored to be hosting this workshop at the beautiful space of the Hotel Retreat at Elcot Park
Novemeber 10th, 18-20:00
What if the food you eat today could influence the health of your eyes tomorrow?
We often think of our eyes as separate from the rest of the body. But emerging science is revealing something fascinating: the health of our eyes may be connected to our gut, our metabolism, our immune system and the food we eat every day.
This is the gut–eye axis, an exciting and rapidly developing area of research exploring how the gut microbiome, intestinal barrier, inflammation and metabolic health may influence ocular health.
For Dr Toms, this became deeply personal. Her own journey with severe rosacea and dry eye led her to look beyond the surface and ask a different question: what is happening inside the body that could be contributing to what we see in the eyes?
That question changed the way she thought about eye health.
In this practical and inspiring in- person workshop, we will explore how nutrition and lifestyle can support not only your general health, but also the health of your eyes. You will discover the importance of omega-3 fatty acids, colourful plants and polyphenols, fibre, blood-sugar balance and a diverse gut microbiome, and how these factors connect with inflammation and healthy ageing.
Most importantly, this isn't about a perfect diet or complicated rules.
It is about understanding your body and learning how small, realistic changes to the way you eat and live can support your health over a lifetime.
You will leave with practical strategies that you can start using immediately, and a completely different way of thinking about your eyes:
Your eyes are not isolated organs. They are part of you.
Feed your gut. Nourish your body. Protect your vision.
Enjoy the experience and learn how to create nutritious and delicious meals every day.
By the end of this event, you'll be aware of how food impacts your biology. You will learn how to age well. You'll know which breakfast choices may be causing your cravings, which foods not to eat on an empty stomach, which foods lead to mood swings, and how to avoid the afternoon slump.
You will have a roadmap on how to optimize your health and longevity in a sustainable way.
